Amazing Unbeatable Odour Elimination

The above image is coir at 350X magnification. It is estimated that the surface area of coir material to be approximately 0.6ha (6000 square meters) in a single litre of coir. The large surface area is created by the hollow channel structure. This is how it can absorb and retain up to 4 times its own weight in liquids.

As a pet owner you probably find litter tray odour to be a little offensive and until now just had to put up with it. You've used litter that claims to reduce or eliminate odour. Though all these seem to do is use fragrances or other odour-masking agents. None are all that affective and have any of them considered how your cat might feel about the smell.

Cats have a natural instinct to bury any trace of where they've been as they are sensitive to being prey for larger animals. They are not exclusively skilled predators. Therefore cats inherently want to make use of a litter that masks odour in a natural way.

Artificial fragrances and masking agents aren't very kind to a cat's heightened sensory system. So it is safe to assume what smells nice to us doesn't necessarily translate to smelling all that inviting to your cat.

Kitty's Crumble was developed as a product that would eliminate odour in a way that could satisfy the needs of both the cat owner and most importantly your cat.

The natural odour elimination characteristics of Kitty's Crumble is unique compared with other litter materials. Most litters simply absorb urine into a porous structure, without any capacity to prevent odour from leaching out.

The key odour reducing characteristics of Kitty's Crumble are:

  1. Absorbs immediately on contact (other litters require time for liquids to absorb)
  2. Capillary action disperses moisture throughout all the absorbent grains whilst drawing moisture away from the surface of the litter
  3. Each grain of Kitty's crumble provides a massive surface area 6000m3 per litre of material; that is 4 cupfuls of Kitty's Crumble has nearly the surface area of a football field. These microscopic capillary tubes that draw moisture into the voids therefore trapping the moisture and odour deep within its structure.
  4. Kitty's Crumble has a high cation exchange, which means that cationic molecules bound with the molecular structure of the coir. Many of the odorous compounds from cat waste are cationic and when bound can only escape through a cation exchange process such as in plant nitrification

The natural organic coir used in Kitty's Crumble is also being used for a range of industrial bio filtration application for removing odorous and hazardous waste air streams such as hydrogen sulphide and ammonia.
